Hello! My name is Larisa Kitaychik. I have been teaching piano for over 20 years. I offer individual private piano lessons for all ages and levels. Each lesson is customized to meet my student’s unique needs. My teaching method is based on the traditional European and American approaches, and enhanced by modern developments in piano pedagogy.
My Background
I hold a Bachelor and a Master of Music in Piano Teaching from the Moscow Pedagogical University and Master of Special Education from the Northeastern Illinois University. Besides teaching, my professional activities include active memberships in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), the North Shore Music Teachers Association (NSMTA) and the Chicago Music Teachers Association (CAMTA).

I am a strong believer that everyone should be able to have a life of music. That's why I became a piano teacher. Whether you're a just a beginner or an advanced student needing guidance, let's explore the world of music together!
My Classes
My students have the flexible choice of having their piano lessons at the comfort of their own home or at my studio located in Glenview, IL. I offer month to month lesson commitments, as well as semester long programs. I'm happy to offer an introductory lesson before you sign up for weekly piano lessons.

My studio is very diverse, and my students participate in a variety of events throughout the year, including recitals, music festivals, auditions, exams, and competitions. Students of all ages and ability levels have the opportunity to participate in formal recitals and festivals, as well as fun, informal community performances. There’s an event on this list for everyone!

My students have the performance opportunities around the community that can fulfill a student's community service requirements for their school. Performances for people in assisted living centers, nursing homes, hospice, shelters and other opportunities can be arranged and are highly rewarding for all who participate.

Private Lessons
All students have one 30, 45, or 60 minutes weekly lesson based on a teacher’s recommendation. Students learn music from all musical periods– Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary/Jazz, and popular and traditional as well. Lessons consist of technique work, repertoire, sightreading, harmonizing, improvising, composing, music theory, and music history.
